Ulster's secret paedophile shelters
Hundreds of kids are being put at risk by the Probation Board’s willingness to house sex offenders next to schools and youth clubs.
That was the chilling warning made yesterday by the mother of a Belfast teenager who took his own life after being abused.
Jean Carson believes it will only be a matter of time before a child is targeted by a paedophile living at a nearby hostel.
“It’s sickening that so many sex offenders are being housed next to schools and youth clubs,” she said.
“Parents have a right to know if a sex offender is living in their midst.”
Jean’s son, Paul Anthony, took his own life in 1999 after being abused by scout master Martin Kerr.
Sunday Life today lifts the lid on the secret sex offender hostels that are surrounded by schools, nurseries and play groups and which house Ulster’s most dangerous perverts.
