Villagers beat weather and CIYMS

Waringstown and CIYMS served up a thriller in their Ulster Bank Premier League clash at Belmont with the Villagers winning with just two balls to spare.

In one of only two top-flight games to beat the weather, Waringstown captain Jonathan Bushe and Andrew Cousins scrambled a leg bye to put them top of the table.

Lee Nelson may not have seen the job through to its conclusion but the Ireland Under 19 World Cup all-rounder hit the biggest and most important six of the day, thumping Ben McCord over the trees at cover point to reduce the visitors’ target to less than a run a ball.
