The lovely Debbie McGee will be conjuring up some extra magic as she casts her spell at the 28th Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show.

Fresh from a panto season playing the fairy godmother in Sleeping Beauty, followed by Christmas guest appearances on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Come Dine With Me, Debbie will quickstep to the TEC Belfast to open the show at 1.00pm on Friday, January 17.

The globe-trotting celeb is ideally qualified to cut the ribbon on Northern Ireland’s favourite travelfest. Her own love affair with holidays started right here in Northern Ireland where she enjoyed childhood trips to Portrush with her family. Later, her ballet career took her to dance in Iran before she was forced to flee Tehran after the ’79 Revolution. Undaunted, she went on to travel the world, performing with her husband, the magician Paul Daniels.

Since his death, Debbie has forged a new career and just last year received the coveted Maskelynne Award from The Magic Circle, an accolade which she believes would have delighted Paul, not least because she was the first woman to earn the accolade.

Today Debbie continues to entertain and to travel and she is sure to find plenty to entertain and inspire her at Belfast Telegraph Holiday World, where hundreds of exhibitors will be showcasing deals and destinations close to home and around the world.

More than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day vacation extravaganza, ready to snap up unique show-only deals as they discover what’s hot and happening in the world of travel. The lively Caravan & Motorhome show-within-a-show will roll out its newest models and choicest locations, while the 50+ Village reveals benefits and special offers tailored to entice mature travellers who may have a little more time on their hands and a little more disposable income once the family is raised and the mortgage paid off!

Travel temptation in abundance will be found on board the dedicated Oasis Travel Cruise Pavilion while the Honeymoon & Wedding Destinations Pavilion hosted by Clubworld Travel provides inspiration for romantic getaways and more.

Belfast Telegraph Holiday World famously provides the perfect opportunity for comparison shopping, and bargain buying, in a single, entertainment-packed venue, specially created to get everyone in holiday mood. Visitors will have instant and personal access to advice and inspiration from world-class experts and senior representatives from national and regional Tourist Boards, airlines, travel companies, accommodation and service providers.

Belfast Telegraph Holiday World will be staged at the TEC at Queen’s Road, close to Titanic Belfast, and just opposite the Titanic Studios where Game of Thrones was created.

The show will be open from 1.00pm - 6.00pm on Friday, January 17 and from 11.00am – 5.30pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19.
