Corbyn condemns Boris Johnson's Parliament plans

Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn has condemned Boris Johnson's plans to temporarily shut down Parliament, saying the Prime Minister "needed to be held to account" by Parliament. The Prime Minister will temporarily close down the Commons from the second week of September until October 14 when there will be a Queen's Speech to open a new session of Parliament. The move triggered a furious reaction from MPs seeking to block a no-deal Brexit.
