Life coach documents journey through tongue cancer


A life coach has shared a remarkable, no-holds-barred video diary of her cancer journey - from diagnosis to having a third of her tongue cut out and learning to talk again. Filming everything from her intimate thoughts before and after diagnosis to graphic scenes straight after surgery, mother-of-two Annabel Lovick, 48, has given a candid insight into the treatment for mouth cancer, which affects just 8,300 people annually in the UK, according to the NHS. Only one in eight of those affected are under the age of 50. Annabel, of Bromley, south-east London, now wants to promote the positive mental attitude that got her through. She said: “For me, cancer is not a label, a stigma or a warrior’s badge - it’s a reminder and a wake-up call.
