Mother of Mountbatten boat boy killing: I still feel the horror of his death

Mary Hornsey, mother of Paul Maxwell, a 15-year-old boat boy who was killed in the IRA bomb attack on Lord Mountbatten's boat off the coast of Co Sligo on August 27, 1979 has described the incident as a war crime. The bomb was detonated by remote control by terrorists watching from the shore as three teenage boys were among the group on the boat which set off from the harbour. The massacre claimed four lives - Lord Mountbatten, Lady Doreen Brabourne, the 83-year-old mother-in-law of the earl's daughter, his 14-year-old grandson Nicholas Knatchbull - as well as Paul who worked on the boat.
