Nicola Sturgeon hits out at Boris Johnson over Parliament suspension

Scotland First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has condemned Prime Minister Boris Johnson's decision to temporarily shut down parliament in mid-October, saying Scotland "didn't vote for a no-deal Brexit." Opposition lawmakers contend that Johnson wants to limit the ability of lawmakers to come up with legislation to block a no-deal Brexit. The Queen has approved an order to prorogue Parliament, which will effectively suspend it for a month. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said his move to prorogue Parliament was simply to set out his "exciting agenda" in a Queen's Speech on October 14.
