Somerset coin hoard potentially worth more than £5 million


2,528 coins have been discovered dating back to the Battle of Hastings. They depict both the defeated King Harold II and the triumphant conqueror William I. The coins were found in a field in Chew Valley, Somerset, in January this year. Coins from around 1066 depicting both the defeated Harold and conqueror William were found in a field in the Chew Valley.
