UK's largest collection of 'witches' marks discovered in caves

An unprecedented number of 'witches' marks' dating back 60,000 years have been discovered inside caves at a limestone gorge in the East Midlands. The marks, known as 'apotropaic' marks are carved into the walls and ceilings of the caves around dark holes and large crevices at Creswell Crags, and are believed to ward off evil spirits from the underworld. Interview with Paul Baker, director of Creswell Crags.
