A Civic Lunch was hosted in Belfast City Hall today marking the 70th anniversary of the signing of the surrender document ending the Second World War.
Veterans of World War 2, most who are now aged 90 years and older, were the VIP guests.
Guests enjoyed a civic lunch with musical entertainment by The Nostalgia Trio who performed popular songs of the 1940s.
A small exhibition of wartime documents and artefacts provided by the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum.
Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alderman Guy Spence, said: “It is a real honour to host this commemorative luncheon and to acknowledge the incredible contribution these veterans have made.
