Alliance Party Leader Naomi Long has paid tribute to former Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness who has announced he is retiring from politics due to ill-health.
Mrs Long said that while like many she didn't agree with his politics he deserved respect for what he had achieved in the last ten years.
"There were moments of genuine generosity in what he did, whether it be meeting The Queen or the many other times when he reached out.
"Personally I wish him well. He clearly is battling ill-health at the moment and I hope that that resolves itself and that in his retirement he enjoys better health," she said.
