Video: Asthma suffers advised to seek medical assistant if they struggle

A stark warning has been issued to Northern Ireland's asthma sufferers as bitterly cold weather continues to grip the province. Joan O’Hagan, Director of Asthma UK Northern Ireland, said it is vital that the 1 in 10 people with asthma here are prepared this winter: "Three quarters of people with asthma find that cold air makes it worse, putting them at an increased risk of a potentially life threatening asthma attack. “People with asthma have told us that they have thought twice about going to hospital or their GP in the last 4 weeks, despite knowing they needed specialist treatment. "Nobody having an asthma attack who needs emergency treatment should be anxious about going to A&E." Credit: Belfast Telegraph
