Video: Belfast's Black Santa celebrates 40th year raising money at Christmas time

Black Santa appeal has reached its 40th year collecting money for charity at Christmas time, outside the doors of St. Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.

Dean John Mann and his colleagues have been collecting money from Friday 16 December and so far people have helped to raise an impressive £130,000.

Dean John Mann said: “It is fantastic, it is really good. People have been very generous this year.

“We are already up on the same time last year.”

If you would like to donate money to the Black Santa appeal, you have until 4.30pm Christmas Eve to donate money outside St. Anne’s Cathedral, or you can donate to the new Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/4w350m3/donate/direct/campaign/3817616#MessageAndAmount

The Black Santa appeal has been running since 1976, this is Dean John Mann’s sixth year collecting for the appeal.
