Video: Co Armagh man scoops £4m on National Lottery scratchcard win

A road worker from County Armagh has won £4 Million on a scratch card.

Ross Hearst made the decision to buy a scratch card instead of something to eat on Wednesday the 6th of January.

His luck began on Tuesday the 5th of January when he bought three separate winning scratch cards at three different shops. "When you're winning you're winning," says now millionaire Ross Hearst.

The next day he went and bought another scratch card and, this time won big netting a full £4 million.

"The last one I bought was the last one in the screen, in the shop, there were no more £10 scratch cards, I was going to get something to eat."

Mr Hearst and his wife Jocelyn are expecting their first baby at the end of April and have an ideal start in life.

The odds of winning a jackpot on the £4 Million scratch card are 1 in 4,347,890. For Mr Hearst to win on four consecutive scratch cards (£20, £20, £10 and £4 Million) are little longer! This works out at a staggering 1 in 922,337,203,685,477,600.
