Video: Cost of Irish dancing costumes - the debate continues

The perceived high cost of Irish dancing costumes was yet again a talking point at the All-Ireland Championships being staged this week at Belfast's Waterfront Hall.

Francis Curley, vice-chairman of Oireachtas rince na hEireann - organisers of the championships - said: "Everyone talks about the initial price of costumes, but once you have the costume, there is always a really good second-hand sale price for them."

Dan Armstrong, chairman of the Ulster Branch of the Irish Dancing Commission, added: "There is always a big demand for slightly used costumes because they are not really worn that much during the year."
