Duke Special talks about his upcoming tour, playing at the Holywood Harmony Festival and his dreadlocks.
The Holywood Harmony Festival is a volunteer-ran event and has a jam-packed three-day line-up of music, including Hothouse Flowers, Ulaid, Gareth Dunlop, Dana Masters and The Emerald Armada.
The event is organised by Mari and Garry Jackson from Garry’s barber shop in Holywood.
Duke paid the barber shop a visit to play a set with Ulaid back in early May, Duke said, “ I think in the film you can see people getting their hair cut in slow motion, I obviously didn’t! [get my hair cut]. I think he [Garry] was looking to tidy up my beard but apart from that no, he knew better than to dare try.”
The musician has had his dredlocks for more than 17-years and has no plans to give them up any time soon.
Catch Duke Special and Ulaid on Friday 2 June, the festival is on until Sunday 4 June, for tickets and more information visit: www.harmonyfest.co.uk
