Video: Eric Betzig, Stefan W. Hell and William E. Moerner are awarded the Nobel Prize for chemistry

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced on Ocotber 8 that the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2014 was awarded to Americans Eric Betzig and William E. Moerner, and German Stefan W. Hell, for their achievements in the field of super-resolved fluorescence microscopy. According to an official press release, due to the trio’s achievements in bypassing the physical limits for the maximum resolution of traditional optical microscopy, the optical microscope can now peer into the nanoworld.
