Video: ESA manager jokes that Philae landed twice on Rosetta comet

The European Space Agency (ESA) released a video on November 13 sharing details of Philae’s soft landing on comet 67P as well as the first image of the comet’s surface. As Philae touched down, it actually lifted off again before landing for a second time. The ESA stated this was designed to handle the impact of landing, with Stephan Ulamec, Philae lander manager, joking that Philae had in fact landed on the comet twice.
