Video: Gerry Adams insists Sinn Fein did not 'want an another election'

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams has insisted his party did not want another election so soon and that it only came about because of First Minister Arlene Foster's decision not to step aside while there was an inquiry into the RHI scandal.

Speaking in Belfast on Friday, Mr Adams said: "We are certainly not looking for a brutal election. We will be looking to be as well mannered and as positive as we can."

He said Sinn Fein was aiming to retake it's place in any new Executive - but only if the parity of esteem and equality enshrined in the Good Friday Agreement were honoured.
