Video: Inktober comes to Belfast as artists draw daily during the 31-day challenge
Artists from around the world have been taking part in Inktober, 31 drawings in 31 days, could you do it?
Set up by Utah based illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, the idea behind Inktober was for him to improve his inking skills and now it is a worldwide event.
Jen Rea, owner of Ink Monkey, alternative art supply store in Belfast said: “I really enjoy taking part the challenge, I didn’t think I had the time with running the shop but it is like everything you just have to set time aside for it.
“I decided on a theme of portraits and rock stars, I’ve done Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Salvador Dali.
‘’I would advise anyone to take on the challenge, it’s a lot of fun.”
It is not too late to start inking now for the challenge and there are only four simple rules to follow for Inktober.
First, you have to make a drawing in ink then post your work on your social media site(s), hastag #Inktober and repeat.
