Video: New York fast food protest draws heavy police presence

Dozens of fast food workers gathered in Times Square, and across New York City, on September 4, leading to an increased police presence on the streets. Workers calling for wages to be increased to a minimum of $15 per hour and for the right to unionize protested in over 150 cities across the US. NBC reported that about a dozen people were arrested in New York after blocking a street outside a Times Square McDonald’s restaurant. This footage reportedly shows arrested protesters being led away by police. It was shot on West 8th Avenue. Credit: Instagram/la__davis
