A brand new festival launches tomorrow at T13 near the Titanic Quarter, Belfast and provides a free daytime conference followed by a paid ticketed event in the evening celebrating electronic audio visual arts in Northern Ireland.
AVA is a grassroots Audio Visual Arts festival that brings together, celebrates and amplifies the fantastic electronic talent including both music and digital visual arts emerging from Northern Ireland.
This is an event for established and also up and coming artists alike, a place to meet and discuss with other people who share an interest in audio visual arts and a chance to have fun and learn new skills.
AVA will host a list of top talent in electronic music, film and digital art including home-grown global duo Bicep, DJ and film scorer DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5 who is an LA based Hip-Hop producer, Adam Smith who is best known as AV director of the Chemical Brothers documentary, Skins, Dr. Who and the Streets music videos.
Ableton will make their debut in Northern Ireland tomorrow at AVA, they are a Berlin-based music software and hardware market leaders, this is an event not to be missed.
Bicep, speaking about the festival have said: “When Sarah (Up Productions) brought the concept to us back in April 2014, we knew it was something that had to happen. Having played at festivals around the world, we wanted to support the development of a strong electronic festival in Belfast. Getting all the talent together and back in the city and in one incredible warehouse space down at the docks, with a supporting conference is going to be pretty special.”
The overall aim of the festival is to provide an opportunity for emerging artists, labels, designers, music video makers, animators, promoters and the very special guests mentioned to share their knowledge to the audience.
The free day-time conference starts runs from 11am-4pm and is open to all ages however, the evening event form 4pm to late is a paid event and over 18’s only. You have to book your ticket online at www.avafestival.com
