Video: Police advise drivers to be on alert after spate of hijackings in Belfast

Police are appealing for information in relation to an attempted car-jacking which took place last week. The incident took place at around 6.38am on Thursday, on the lower part of the Ormeau Road in South Belfast. Belfast city councillor for the Ulster Unionist Party, Jeffrey a Dudgeon, said his constituents need to be more wary: "They're going to be concerned and perturbed, particularly women because it seems to be women who are being targeted more than men. He advised those parking their cars to be careful: "The consequences of losing a car or it being burnt out are big but psychologically it can out people back for years." Credit: Belfast Telegraph
