Hundreds of young people from across Northern Ireland take to the stage for a special production of Perform Boot Camp Cats.
With only two weeks to learn one of the most difficult and well-known stage productions, the youths have been put through their paces.
The purr-fect production of Cats, produced and directed by Peter Corry, has helped young people develop their dance and acting skills and helped many to build up their confidence.
Peter Corry said, “During a meeting with The SSE Arena earlier this year, it became obvious that between us, we could put together a summer project that would give young people in Northern Ireland a chance to achieve something special. Perform Boot Camp is all about offering young people the opportunity to enhance their performance skills while having an enjoyable and memorable experience at the same time.
He added, “And what could be more memorable than being part of this world-famous musical in this incredible venue! With SSE Airtricity’s support we are planning on putting together a huge production that both cast and audience will remember for a long, long time."
Aoife O’Hagan from Belfast, who plays Alonzo said: “I love this, I love singing in front of people and find it really fun.”
Adding, “It will help me with confidence, being in front of people and an audience talking to people like that, and teamwork.”
Perform Boot Camp has been granted special permission by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group to put this unique show on at the SSE Arena.
The show takes place on Saturday 6 August, for more information visit www.ssearenabelfast.com
