Sinn Fein has always been consistent that they want to be in Stormont and to be a part of the Executive.
Michelle O'Neill, Sinn Fein's Northern Leader, was speaking at her party's Westminster election manifesto launch in Dungannon on Monday.
But she stressed any new Executive had to have integrity "at it's core" and delivered rights and equality "for all our citizens."
Mrs O'Neill insisted: "We (Sinn Fein) were always there because we wanted to be. Unfortunately unionism was there because they had to be.
"That being said, we need to get back round the executive table."
