Mike Nesbitt, Leader of the UUP, said Sinn Fein’s plan for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) investigation ‘is not worth a row of beans’.
Speaking at Stormont on Friday afternoon, Mr. Nesbitt said: 'This is about the DUP and Sinn Fein proving they are incapable of governing together, they’ve had 10 years to try and do it and they’ve fluffed it.'
The Assembly have a potential ten days until they return to the Chamber.
Mike Nesbitt added: 'Why wait ten days, if we are going for an election, let’s get on with it.'
The botched RHI scheme is £490m over budget.
