A lake-effect snowstorm brought serious snowfall to the Buffalo area in New York state on Tuesday, November 18. Four people died as the storm dumped more than four feet of snow around the area. Local news outlets quoted county officials who said one of the deaths was vehicle related, while the other three were cardiac arrests as a result of shoveling. New York State Police said around 120 vehicles were stranded near the Lackawanna toll barrier on the New York State Thruway on November 18.
