Video: Students stage a mock same-sex marriage on the steps Stormont

A mock same-sex wedding was staged outside Stormont on Monday in a bid to boost further support for the introduction of marriage equality in Northern Ireland.

It was organised by the National Union of Students/Union of Students in Ireland - to mark the second anniversary of same-sex marriage becoming law in the Republic of Ireland.

Mark McLoughlin and Neal Rush, who have been in a same-sex relationship for four years, performed the roles of the 'happy couple'.

They said they were delighted to take part in the event to show solidarity with fellow LGBT couples in Northern Ireland who were being denied equal rights.
