Video: Tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo strikes the British Isles

The tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo is forecast to bring heavy winds and rain to western parts of Europe early on October 21. Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain were braced for gale-force winds as the storm crossed the Atlantic. Gonzalo moved into the Caribbean on October 13, sweeping over the Lesser Antilles and setting its sights on the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Gonzalo became a hurricane on October 16 after passing through the Dutch territory of Sint Maarten on October 15, killing one person. The hurricane was a Category 4 storm on October 17 when it struck Bermuda, before moving northwards and starting to dissipate. Credit: YouTube/EUMETSAT
