Video: Thief takes defibrillator from Derry shop - second time in year

A thief has stolen a life-saving defibrillator from a Northern Ireland shop.

The machine was taken from the shop in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In a Facebook post alongside CCTV footage of the incident, Curry's Spar in Derry said said: "Yet again our Church Meadows community defibrillator has been targeted. At 3:11am this morning the person in the CCTV approaches the store and removes the defibrillator from its protective unit.

"We would urge anyone with any information regarding its whereabouts to contact the PSNI on 101 or our church meadows branch."

It's the second time a machine has been taken from the Church Meadows Spar Church Meadows, Rosssowney Road in Derry.

Last year the defibrillator was taken from the shop and destroyed.  A replacement was bought after a fundraising drive from the local community.
