Video: Two massive crashes at rain-shortened Daytona 400


Aric Almirola won his first NASCAR race at the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway yesterday after he managed to avoid two massive crashes during the race. Almirola, driver of Richard Petty Motorsports’ No. 43 Ford, was named the winner 112 laps into the scheduled 160 after heavy rain brought a halt to proceedings.The first of the two big crashes occurred on Lap 20 of the race and it involved 16 cars. Here’s what NASCAR had to say about the first crash: “Ricky Stenhouse Jr. gets loose and collects several drivers, including Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. on lap 20 of the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway.” Credit: NASCAR
