Video: UK retailers get set for what is predicted to be the busiest shopping weekend in history

The biggest shopping weekend of the year and potentially in UK retail history is upon us with millions of Brits searching for Christmas gifts following the November pay day. Argos, the UK's largest online high street retailer, will have 6,100 warehouse workers and 1,000 delivery drivers at 11 distribution centres ready to dispatch everything from Lego to video games to stores and homes across the country on a fleet of 975 lorries and vans. Last year Cyber Monday alone saw 3.6 million visits to argos.co.uk, its mobile site and apps and this year the retailer predicts more than half of the traffic will come from phones and tablets Argos expects online traffic to peak on Cyber Monday with more than five million visits to its websites and apps on the day, more than half of which will come from customers using mobile devices, at a rate of around 3,000 visits per minute as customers increasingly want to shop while on-the-go.
