Video: UN authorizes peacekeeping mission to war-torn CAR

The United Nations approved a resolution on April 10, authorizing the deployment of close to 12,000 peacekeepers to the war-torn Central African Republic. The UN Security Council authorized the mandate of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in CAR (MINUSCA) through April 30, 2015. A sectarian conflict has gripped the country since a March 2013 coup which saw Muslim Seleka rebels seize power. It is unclear when peacekeeping troops will be deployed.
