Video: Widower makes NHS trust apologise after wife's missed cancer diagnosis

A grieving widower has forced an NHS trust to apologise after a missed cancer diagnosis meant he lost his wife of 54 years.

Raymond Venus, 80, was left devastated after his wife Jane Ann died having failed to receive treatment for her advanced cancer.

As a result he complained about Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust to the NHS ombudsman, who today have released a report detailing 100 cases where they have had to step in.
