Cover stars: Layer up for a fashionable and cosy winter

Evelin Brandt will have winter all wrapped up at Directory 15 this week, says Maureen Coleman

Evelin Brandt Belfast has fashion all wrapped up this autumn/winter. With darker evenings drawing in, it's all about layering. Snuggle up in soft woollen jumpers and gilets, chunky cardigans and cocoon-shaped coats.

From white to cream and beige tones, there is a certain sophisticated glamour to winter dressing in these shades. And black is back as the fashionista's perennial favourite.

Following the success of their inaugural event last year, Directory 15 returns with the best in fashion, style and beauty. And the Evelin Brandt Belfast team will be on hand as part of the three-day fashion extravaganza this week with tips on creating the ultimate head-to-toe autumn/winter luxe looks.

Six models will take to the catwalk on Thursday at Riddel Hall, Stranmillis, to showcase the latest styles from the Lisburn Road, Belfast, boutique. In a fun, interactive evening, the stylists will advise on how to combine different tones and textures or how to mix and match soft creamy silks and knits with other rich, winter colours.

Some of the main looks from the Evelin Brandt autumn/winter collection, which will be featured on the catwalk later this week, are modelled here by Directory 15 founder and event Style Icon Nuala Meenehan.

Make-up artist Judy Wong will also provide tips on key cosmetic trends. Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm, are £12 from Belfast Welcome Centre or
