UUP backs breast cancer ‘Think Pink’ campaign

The Ulster Unionist Party has come out in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Stormont.

Breast cancer charities use October to heighten awareness of the disease and to raise money to help fight cancer.

UUP health spokesman John McCallister said: “The Ulster Unionist Party will be using the month of October to encourage everyone in Northern Ireland to check themselves regularly for the signs of breast cancer.

“And it’s not just women who are at risk, 300 men are diagnosed in the UK each year.

“I hope that the ‘Think Pink’ campaign this month will increase personal awareness among men and women across Northern Ireland and, as a result, that lives will be saved.”
